I started...

I was not too dark dark to begin with and I grew darker over time as I went on holiday. My skin became darker and darker as you can see from the picture above.

Hi girls,

Today, I am going to review a newly launched face serum from VLCC.  I had seen it in Big Bazaar earlier, but one week back, I purchased it from a local cosmetic store and got a discount too :happydance:

My Take on VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Serum:

First of all, texture of this serum is smooth and runny in consistency and no artificial color is added, but I don’t like the smell.  One pump is enough to cover the whole face and the serum spreads easily. I have oily skin and this serum does not increase the oiliness on my face.  In fact, I am using this instead of my regular moisturizer. It is too hot and humid in Kolkata now, so moisturizer (though oil free) seems heavy on my skin and causes excessive sweating.  Nowadays, after washing my face, I use a toner and then this serum.  After some time, I apply Lotus Herbals 3 in 1 Matte Sunscreen 40.

I also use it after returning home and at bed time. Oshea herbals Glopure serum is my regular serum and I am happy with that. I just wanted to try a new one, so I picked this one up.  I have no acne marks or dark spots on my face, so I can’t comment about that, but this serum adds a little glow to my face. I don’t believe in any whitening claim.  It faded my tan to some extent (up to a little extent though).

This serum takes more time to get absorbed and till then my face feels sticky.  I am quite happy with this serum as I did not have much expectations from it.

Texture is smooth and spreads easily.

Does not control oil.

I didn’t notice any whitening effect.

The Things you Need for Skin Whitening Facial

Head band

A small towel

A bowl of water

Procedure

head bandWash your hands. Tie head band around your hair.

Put towel around your shoulders and neck to prevent dipping on clothes.

Step 1- Face Cleansing

Firstly you need to clean up your face from dirt and oil. For this purpose apply cleansing milk on your face and neck; massage properly from neck to upwards nearly 5 minutes then clean with sponge.

Step 2- Face Messaging

After cleansing your face properly next step is massaging. A good massage with a suitable massage cream increases the blood circulation in your facial area which reduces wrinkles and pigmentation, making the skin look young and radiant and also soften the skin. Apply cream on face and neck and message it. If you have dry skin then I will recommend you to select intensive moisturizing cream, for oily skin use whitening herbal massage cream and if your skin is sensitive then apply whitening facial massage cream. Massage cream about 5 minutes.

Step 3- Face Scrubing

After massaging with cream, its time for using scrub, I recommend you to use apricot scrub for normal skin. If you have acne then St. Ives Naturally Clear scrub is best for you. Dot scrub all over your face and neck; wet your hand and start scrubbing from neck to till forehead. When the skin gets dry during scrub, wet your hands again and scrub.

Step 4- Black Heads Removing

Now if you have black heads on your face then get steam without removing scrub then use black heads remover applicator for removing black heads from skin. Sometimes the skin gets soft after massaging and black heads can remove without getting steam. I will not recommend you steam in summer season because it can harm your skin in hot season. For removing black heads from nose you can also use deep cleansing nose strips.

Step 5- Mask

Hollywood Style Whitening Mud Mask

Now clean your face with sponge and apply mask. Mud masks are considered the best but some mud mask causes irritation on sensitive skin so in such situation I recommend you to use peel off mask. Hollywood Style shitening mud mask is best for all skin types. I will suggest you to use Lemon peel off mask  for oily skin and blesso whitening peel-off mask is excellent for sensitive skin. Leave mask on your skin until gets dry then wash off with normal water. Does not use sponge for removing mud mask instead gently rub your skin during rinse off.

Step 6- Toner

L'oreal Paris Dermo Expertise White Perfect Whitening and Moisturizing Toner

At the end apply skin toner or astringent on face. Hollywood style softening glycerin toner and L’oreal Paris white perfect whitening and moisturizing toner are good. For dry skin I will suggest you hollywood style extreme dry skin toner.

Note: Do not go in front of fire/stove approximately 3-4 hours after getting facial.

Steps for Facial Massage

Move your fingers gently as shown in picture for massage. Do massage for 5-8 minutes in each step for good result.
